Made a smooth transition to fences when winning at Leicester in January but failed to cope with a 7lb rise when only third over 2m3f at Doncaster next time up. He does, however, have time on his side and the return to 2m is sure to be in his favour. A leading player despite being set to shoulder topweight.
Plenty of experience over hurdles and won here in that sphere last December. Has a bit to prove after a slightly disappointing debut over fences at Exeter, though. Tries the hood combined with a tong strap for the first time in a bid to bounce back.
Showed a good attitude to hold off the late rattle of Time And Again at Chepstow last month and gained a deserved fist success under rules. His battling spirit is a good tool to rely upon but he faces a tougher assignment under a 5lb heavier burden.
Has a bit to find with a couple of today's rivals and hard to envisage him finding the requisite improvement at his age. Well handicapped on his old form, so not without a chance if his old rivals are under par for any reason.

Forecasts
Baraza (8/11), What's Up Rory (5/2), Time And Again (7/2), Looks Like Power (9/2), Goonjim (6/1), Going Nowhere Fast (16/1)
A tricky little contest that can go the way of BARAZA, who has relished the switch to fences and will appreciate today's drop back to the minimum distance. What's Up Rory and Time And Again are old rivals that are capable of making this a stern test, while support for the lightly weighted Goonjim would also be interesting to note.
