Beaten favourite at Chelmsford by a length last time out and remains on the same mark here. Could be able to see out what looks to be a similar race this time around if improving just slightly on that level of form.
Narrow second last time out was a return to form, for which he is raised 3lb. This rates a slightly easier contest though, so he should be able to get competitive on that evidence even with the rise in the weights.
Hat trick seeker as well as a C&D winner earlier in the year. Has bee shooting up the weights recently but he remains progressive, and with the inside draw to help he could easily make it three wins in a row.
Hasn't won since August 2014 despite a couple of close calls. Third over this trip at Newcastle when last seen, beaten 1½L, and is dropped 1lb, but others hold more convincing claims.
C&D winner who has looked handicapped to his best recently, after a 6lb rise for winning at Lingfield over shorter in January. Back in fifth over a furlong further here last time out, but the step down in trip may suit.
Returned from a long absence at York in October, but has showed little either there or at Newcastle since coming back. Difficult to see that changing now stepped back down in trip to a sprint distance.
C&D winner two starts ago who was slightly disappointing when finishing sixth last time out at Chelmsford, though at least it was a close sixth. Remains on the same mark and is a player if bouncing back from that.
C&D winner who has shown only modest form recently. 1lb lower than his last victory in April last year, but has a short lay-off to overcome.
Forecasts
Top of The Bank (5/2), Nezar (11/4), Gold Club (4/1), Hamish Mcgonagain (5/1), Tafteesh (8/1), Compton Park (8/1), Commanche (12/1), Lucky Lodge (22/1)
Commanche was a little disappointing when last seen at Chelmsford, finishing a close sixth that day, but he was a C&D winner two starts ago and that cannot be ignored, while Top of the Bank is also a a C&D winner as well as a hat trick seeker who could still be leniently handicapped. Preference, though, is for NEZAR. Dean Ivory's charge was a narrow second last time out, for which he goes up 3lb. This is a less competitive heat than that though, so if able to defy the rise i in the weights, he can provide the answer.
- Nezar
- Top of The Bank
- Commanche
