Slightly disappointing fourth last time (in a four runner race) when sent off narrow second favourite. May have needed the run and steps up markedly in trip here.

Yet to get off the mark in six attempts, but has run his race on just about every start so far. Down 3lb compared to his handicap debut two starts ago when he was beaten only 2L, and should go close here.

Very impressive in a C&D victory last time out, winning with plenty in hand. Up 10lb for that but is clearly improving and there should be plenty more to come in a similar looking race in terms of difficulty.

Close second at Lingfield was much more like it on his seasonal reappearance, and makes his Tapeta debut here. This looks to be his trip and he is definitely getting better, but he may lack the class of some of his rivals here.

C&D winner in a maiden two starts ago before a lackluster handicap debut at Newcastle last time out. May not have been at his best over 6f or, more likely, found the mark he remains on today to be too high.

Six race maiden who has gone close on a few occasions without ever really threatening to get off the mark. Handicap mark looked high enough over C&D when well beaten last time out and he's only down 2lb.

Won a handicap at Lingfield over this trip in February but has failed to build on that with a higher weight since. Looks to be up against it in this company.

Forecasts

Toy Theatre (6/4), Widnes (11/4), Glorious Artist (6/1), Auric Goldfinger (8/1), Blue Bahia (10/1), El Hombre (14/1), Lightoller (28/1)

Verdict

This is a race where it may pay to look towards the top of the weights, with some promising and progressive all weather performers lining up. GLORIOUS ARTIST remains a maiden at this stage but has run his race just about every time he's seen a racecourse so far, and looks certain to win a race sooner or later. He's down 3lb after being beaten only narrowly on his handicap debut two starts ago, and this looks to be his best opportunity to get off the mark yet Toy Theatre was very impressive in his manner of victory last time but must deal with a hike in the weights, while El Hombre could make amends for a disappointing showing last time out.
  1. Glorious Artist
  2. Toy Theatre
  3. El Hombre
