85,000 guineas son of Cape Cross and a half-brother to a moderate horse in Ireland. Yard are 30-164 for a 54 point profit in three-year-old non handicaps around here.

Disappointing when sent off the 2/9 favourite last time. Time may prove he was beaten by a smart horse and there were three future winners behind him that day. Gelded since that run and cheekpieces are fitted in moves which suggest he may not be that straightforward. Yard are 5-7 with their three-year-olds in the past week.

Derby entry with a solid Japanese pedigree. The market should be monitored for clues as to whether he is ready for his debut.
Half-brother to a number of winners including the useful sprinter Captain Marvellous. Yard are 25-68 around here for a healthy 38 points profit.

Half-brother to French Group 3 and Listed winners at 1m2f and 1m4f. Has finished last on both starts to date and this looks an even better race than either of those contests.
€110,000 son of Teofilo and half-brother to three winners. Holds a Derby entry and is another worth checking in the betting.

Third behind two smart fillies on Newmarket debut including Prix Marcel Boussac winner Wuheida. Denied a clear run next time and sets a clear form standard for others to aim at. It will take a good horse to beat her if ready for her seasonal bow.

Forecasts

Dubai Horizon (4/6), Roc Astrale (7/1), Akamanto (8/1), Nathania (9/1), Impact Point (10/1), Intellect (10/1), Moorea (100/1)

Verdict

There are some interesting newcomers to monitor in the market including Derby entries Impact Point and Roc Astral. It will take an above average sort to beat NATHANIA based on her debut run when third behind two useful fillies in the shape of Wuheida and Spatial. The race was not run to suit next time and she encountered trouble when making her effort. She will take some beating if ready this early in the season. Dubai Horizon was disappointing last time but that run may prove to be better than it looked at the time. Intellect and Akamanto represent yards that do well here and are in form.
  1. Nathania
  2. Dubai Horizon
  3. Intellect
