Confirmed the promise of his Kempton debut by winning a 7f Wolverhampton maiden last time, running on well to beat a dual subsequent winner by 5L. Handicap mark looks more than fair and he will be tough to beat.

Beat John Gosden's Trenchard in emphatic style on debut at Newcastle. That form may not be as strong as it looked at the time and this race will pose more questions.

Displayed a good turn of foot to quicken away from his rivals at Kempton in December. Handicap mark looks about right based on that performance. Yard are 1-22 around here.

Recorded a similar time to Daschas on the same card at Kempton in December. The form does not appear to amount to a great deal but he was backed as though defeat was out of the question. That could suggest he is a lot better than that effort suggests.

Beat a subsequent winner when landing a 7f maiden here. Well beaten in Listed company since. Still looks plenty high enough in the weights.

Winner of a Haydock maiden before finishing last on his handicap debut. Makes seasonal bow in what may turn out to be a hot race. Hard to recommend unless the market suggests otherwise.

Hard to fault what she has achieved since the turn of the year. Up 10lb following her trouncing of the opposition at Wolverhampton. This will be a tougher test of the progress she is making.

Verdict

There are several potential improvers in this which has gone to well supported horses in the past. MUSTARRID is one of the few where the form book suggests he may have been let in lightly by the handicapper. He displayed a good turn of foot to easily quicken away from a horse that went on to win a couple of races and is now rated 79. Tricorn is going from strength to strength and faces no obviously easy task at the weights. He does have fitness on his side and that counts for a lot at this time of year. Me Too Nagasaki did not beat much last time but the form of his debut fourth would still suggest he could be better than his current mark suggests. Toy Theatre, Harlow and Daschas all won last time and are feared in what could turn out to be a hot race.
  1. Mustarrid
  2. Me Too Nagasaki
  3. Tricorn
