Cost €18,000 as a three-year-old and repaid a fraction of that when making all at Towcester last time. The form of that race has not been working out well so far. Stable have been amongst the winners lately but he still faces a stiff task in trying to concede weight all round.

Encountered trouble in running on debut when third to a useful looking horse. Gained compensation here in a three runner race where the favourite ran below par for a stable that was out of form. Faces a stiffer test here but stable continue in excellent form and are 2-2 in bumpers here.

Rare bumper runner for a yard who has not trained a winner in this sphere in the past five seasons. 66/1 and well beaten on bumper debut two weeks ago. Unlikely to have improved that much in that space of time.

First foal of an unraced dam who was a half-sister to three winners including the useful Wouldn't You Agree who won six races. Bought for €13,000 by a yard that are 9-85 in this class of race.
€52,000 purchase racing in the famous Hemmings' colours that are 2-4 around here in bumpers over the past five seasons. Trainer 2-3 in these races this term so this half-brother to winning bumper/hurdler Oscar Blue is one to note.

€12,000 buy who is a half-brother to Killer Miller, who was twice placed in bumpers and won both a hurdle and a chase. Did not show enough on his debut to suggest he was capable of winning a race as good as this promises to be.
£16,000 buy as a first foal by Oscar out of a dam who was fourth in a point-to-point. Yard have had some success in these events in the past and have been going well lately. One to monitor in the market.
€130,000 son of Yeats. Brother to Irish bumper winner/winning novice hurdler Mossback, and half-brother to bumper winner/three time winning hurdler Staying Article. Yard have a modest strike rate of six percent in these races but that improves to 12 percent at this track. Should give a good account with his stable going well at present.

Trainer knows the family well having trained the dam and this newcomer's half-sister Theatre Act to win races. Stable get the occasional winner of a bumper but their horses do generally improve for a run.
£4,000 Beat Hollow filly who is a half-sister to various winners including Son Of Flicka. Her trainer wouldn't be a regular supplier of bumper winners, but is fully capable on the Flat, so is worthy of inspection in the market on her racecourse debut.
At £6,000 this half-sister to Presenting Mahler is a relatively cheap purchase for the yard. Their bumper horses generally go well here but this is a hot race and she will have to be something special to land it.

Forecasts

Ouro Branco (5/4), Nocturnal Myth (10/3), Dr Hooves (5/1), Luckime (6/1), Destined To Shine (6/1), Kick On Dottie (16/1), Theatre Legend (16/1), Court Affairs (18/1), Permission Granted (25/1), Echo Beat (40/1), Mission Trio (66/1), Beau Sancy (100/1)

Verdict

OURO BRANCO is held in high regard by his trainer and although the form of his recent victory does not amount to much, he did display and impressive turn of foot to take him clear inside the final furlong. Nigel Hawke's charge looks the clear pick of those with experience. Dr Hooves is an expensive purchase who will be primed for his debut by a stable that do better with their bumper horses here than is the case elsewhere. Nocturnal Myth and Luckime represent connections that are travelling from afar and that have done well in these races this season.
  1. Ouro Branco
  2. Dr Hooves
  3. Luckime
