Fared much better back over hurdles last time out after falling twice in a row over fences. Clearly has jumping issues over fences but showed decent form in that Uttoxeter hurdles win and displayed a very willing attitude after travelling well for a long way.
Off the mark over hurdles last time out at Chepstow at the fourth attempt showing improved form despite the drop in trip to 2m. Will benefit from going back up in trip and looks to still have improvement in him.
Won a maiden hurdle at this course in November and has faced some stiff tasks since (twice in handicaps). May well appreciate the slight ease in grade here although this isn't a race without depth and he faces some decent rivals.
Landed a C&D maiden in early February by a narrow margin when beating a subsequent winner with his jumping being a lot better than it had been. Followed that up with a good second on his handicap debut being beaten 5L by an unexposed sort at the trip and he returns to novice company in good form.
Progressed well on his last two starts which have both come in testing conditions at Hereford the last of which was his handicap debut. Travelled well on that occasion but the quicker conditions here are a slight concern as all his best form has been shown on softer ground than this.
Has looked fairly limited so far and often races freely. Badly off at the weights with plenty of these and faces a stiff task.
Did show some fairly useful form on the Flat bit hasn't lived up to that profile over hurdles and his two outings so far in this sphere have been poor.
Forecasts
Tintern Theatre (15/8), Atirelarigo (11/4), Town Parks (9/2), Ckalco Des Loges (11/2), Tarrona (8/1), Wynford (100/1), Over To Midnight (200/1)
A competitive opener to the eight-race card and several of these will fancy their chance of winning this. It looks as though despite a win over fences that Atirelarigo is happier over hurdles and his effort at Uttoxeter last time out was a sound one as was that of Tintern Theatre who has faced some tough tasks since winning here. Tarrona may find drying conditions against him and its Ckalco Des Loges and TOWN PARKS who are the favoured duo here. The former looks as though he will enjoy this trip while the latter has run well before over C&D and acquitted himself well on his handicap debut last time out.
- Town Parks
- Ckalco Des Loges
- Atirelarigo
