£30,000 yearling by Poet's Voice out of Bonnie Brae, who has been absent since finishing last of nine on debut in a Carlisle fillies maiden (7F, good to soft) in July 2016. AW debut.

2L runner up to odds-on winner Rutherford in a course 7F fillies maiden earlier this month, so disappointing that she was never on terms next time when stepped up to this trip at Wolverhampton. Turned out quickly for her fourth career start, and likely to find a few too good.

Unraced €28,000 seventh foal by Mount Nelson out of a Groom Dancer mare, and a half-sister to a couple of 6F winners. Non-runner when declared to race at Wolverhampton on Monday, so the market could reveal more about her possible chances.

Soldier of Fortune filly who is bred to stay, and made a pleasing keeping on debut when third to the Ralph Beckett trained Manners Please (10/11f) in a 7F soft ground maiden auction stakes at Thirsk in August 2016. Likely to be suited by this stiff mile, and one to keep an eye on for further improvement now racing against her own sex.

55,000 gns yearling by Fastnet Rock out of Cochabamba (Hurricane Run). Her dam was successful between 6f and 1m, and she's a half-sister to sprint winner Crown. Trainer tends to do well with his three-year-old's at Newcastle, so she should step forward from her 7F good to firm debut fourth at Newmarket to Cashla Bay in October 2016.

Unraced 26,000 gns yearling, and a fifth foal by Dark Angel out of a Fantastic Light mare (Spring View). Sister to a winner in the Middle East, and a half-sister to AW winner Spreadable.

Started at odds of 100/1, and in rear throughout, before losing touch from halfway when a distant last of six on debut to Weloof at Wolverhampton over 1m½f earlier this month. Little chance.

Looked in need of the run (green and never near to challenge) when a fair fifth of ten on debut behind the smart Poetique (Nick Vedder third) over C&D in mid December. Absent since and possibly capable of better with time, but not one for tonight.

Ex Roger Varian trained, and has ran well to a degree on both starts for this trainer. Unable to build upon a fair second to Eyes on Asha (C&D) earlier this month, and possibly found 7F on the sharp side when third to Aquamarina (Arcadian Angel second) here on her latest start. Back up in trip.

From the stable who have sent the potentially exciting Signe to Newcastle twice of late, and a 240,000 gns yearling herself; a sixth foal by Sea The Stars out of Mamonta (Fantastic Light). Full sister to Group 2 winner Endless Time, half-sister to the useful 1m2 to 1m6f winner Marhaba Malyoon, and likely to take the world of beating on her racecourse debut.

Forecasts

Multicultural (11/8), The Sky Is Blazing (6/4), Acadian Angel (9/2), England Expects (5/1), Sulafah (16/1), Fortuities (20/1), Dusky Maid (25/1), Navajo Grey (50/1), Davinci Dawn (100/1), Royal Flute (100/1), Nonnie And Norny (100/1)

Verdict

A numerically competitive 1m fillies maiden, but the horse that very much catches the eye is the unraced Sea The Stars daughter THE SKY IS BLAZING. A well related 240,000 gns yearling (€160,000 foal), she hails from the same stable that has twice sent the most exciting (and unbeaten) Signe to Newcastle in 2017. She has the benefit of a handy draw, and looks likely to take the world of beating on her racecourse debut, with the once raced Multicultural seemingly set to come out best of the rest, if making only minor improvement from her decent Newmarket back-end debut.
