Run well in two starts here since Lingfield win early in the month. Back up to 7f tonight and, while in good heart, must defy career-high mark to score.

Is 9lb higher than when winning on bow for this yard in early February, ran credibly over 6f last week and tackles this longer trip for the first time now.

Only beat a length over C&D off this rating a fortnight ago on return from short break. Consistent performer recently and should be in the firing line once again despite lofty enough rating.

Super effort in the Irish Lincolnshire at Naas last weekend on second start back, had also run well enough over the mile here previously and looks tuned up now for a big effort.

Just 2lb higher than when winning over C&D in January 2016 but perhaps not finishing his races as well as might be desired in two outings this year. Behind Ishebayorgrey here in December.

Six-time course winner, including earlier this month over 6f, since been collared on the line over this trip and, with just 1lb more to contend with, has every chance of going well again.

Forecasts

Ishebayorgrey (7/2), Tribal Path (4/1), Pearl Spectre (4/1), Split The Atom (9/2), Northern Surprise (6/1), Peticoatgovernment (10/1), Red Avenger (10/1), Patrick (14/1), Strait Of Zanzibar (20/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these know how to get the job done around this venue, including Split The Atom who was just touched off over this trip recently having won over 6f early this month. He is sure to be competitive again off a 1lb mark while Ishebayorgrey was beaten 1L on his return from a short break over this C&D recently. Preference now however is for TRIBAL PATH who ran well enough on reappearance here before a strong showing in the Lincolnshire and should be just about primed to add his three C&D successes. Pearl Spectre is in good heart but looks up against it on ratings while Strait Of Zanzibar has gone well fresh before and is well below his previous winning mark.
  1. Tribal Path
  2. Ishebayorgrey
  3. Split The Atom
