Upped his game this year and carries a 6lb penalty for his recent win at Lingfield. Due to go up 2lb further in future races and drop back in trip unlikely be a problem so has to be respected for a trainer who has a fine record with last time out winners (31.58%).

Disappointing last of 13 last time out but can be forgiven that and won well at Wolverhamton the time before. Has four wins to his name around here and a C&D so he can give another good account but career high mark may be enough to stop him.

12-time AW winner with two of those coming around here. Excellent second behind Nimr last time in what looked a hot race so something like a reproduction of that effort should see him go close.

Still looks well-handicapped, owing plenty of that to his running style, often leaving his challenge to the final moments. While his last three wins have come at this course, he will be probably better suited to a track with less of a pace bias. Has only run once over 10f and that was a slow paced muddling affair so hard to know whether he truly stays this trip and may be best watched at a likely short price.

Dominant C&D winner last time out and her running style suits this track well. 6lb rise looks fair and she may have more to come this season, particularly for this trainer/jockey combination who boast a 16.26% strike rate when teaming up together.

Will have to go some to turn the form around with Qaffaal from last time and he's 0-7 around here. Not certain to stay the extra trip and looks opposable despite his general consistency

Forecasts

Abareeq (2/1), Qaffaal (10/3), Ickymasho (7/2), Pactolus (6/1), Ice Royal (6/1), Forceful Appeal (14/1)

Verdict

Particularly competitive handicap, but it's the nine-year-old FORCEFUL APPEAL who could go one better than his impressive runner-up effort last time. That form has a rock-solid look to it and he's won 12 times on the AW so there's no reason he won't go well again. Qaffaal still looks well-handicapped and there's no doubt there's more to come but it's debatable whether it will be over this trip. Abareeq still looks well-handicapped and can make a bold bid from the front while Ickymasho won well over C&D last time out and the trainer and jockey have a good record when teaming up together.
  1. Forceful Appeal
  2. Qaffaal
  3. Ickymasho
