Has his first run for a new stable returning to the Flat after a spell hurdling for his old yard. Last seen on the Flat in June 2016 (1m2f) at Newbury and makes his Fibresand debut here.

Two from 10 on the Fibresand but has yet to win over this far (placed twice) and could be given a chance on his penultimate run when runner -up over 1m4f. Disappointed last time out over this trip in a stronger contest and stamina doubts remain.

New to this surface but by a sire that suggests that she will act on it. Won well enough last time out over a similar trip on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton and sure to popular given the jockey booking.

Makes his handicap debut after three decent runs in maidens over 1m4f although hasn't on occasions looked the most straightforward. Second here in a seller last time out but was beaten a long way and mark still looks a rather testing one on what he's accomplished.

Modest record on the Flat and unplaced in two visits to this track. Pulled-up over hurdles on his latest start and has work to do even at this modest level.

Jockey booking and stable will attract interest even though he's been unplaced on all his four starts at the track. Has run creditably of late at Wolverhampton and only 1lb above his last winning mark if he can find his form on this surface and over a trip that may test him.

Has won at this track but has never tried a distance such as this anywhere. Partnered by one of the more experienced riders here and looked to need the race last time out here over 1m4f.

Has run 32 times on the Fibresand although he is 0/5 over C&D. Long time since his last win and looking pretty regressive these days and an more and more awkward.

Thackeray14
Age: 10|  Weight: 9-9| J: Miss Becky Smith| T: C W Fairhurst| OR:  46

Placed over C&D last time out but didn't look the most willing and looked a touch awkward. Back of his last winning mark and if he was on his best behaviour he would have a chance in a weak contest.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-9| J: Miss C Walton| T: A Crook| OR:  45

Has managed to win around here in the past but it is a long while since his last success. Raced very lazily over 1m2f here last time out and turned in a very laboured effort.

Forecasts

Paris Bound (9/4), Rainbow Lad (11/4), Cosmic Tigress (4/1), Noguchi (10/1), Thackeray (14/1), Toboggan's Gift (14/1), Crakehall Lad (16/1), Three Colours Red (22/1), Monzino (33/1), Duc de Seville (100/1)

Verdict

Being an amateur rider’s race the jockey bookings will have a big influence on the market so it’s no surprise to see COSMIC TIGRESS at the head of that market with Simon Walker booked. Her breeding suggests that she will act on the Fibresand and she comes here in form which it’s hard to say of many here. Rainbow Lad is another that will be popular but he’s yet to be placed here and despite the assistance he will get from the saddle he’s passed over. Paris Bound has shown he can act on Fibresand and looks to have a place chance while better is expected from Toboggans Gift after a recent run will have brought her on.
  1. Cosmic Tigress
  2. Toboggan's Gift
  3. Paris Bound
