Two-time course winner who looks back on an attractive mark after three unplaced efforts. Winner of a three-runner claimer prior to that at Lingfield and she's capable of going well if everything falls right but the yard appearing to have gone a little quiet has to be a bit of a concern.

Lower grade handicaps clearly proving less competitive on these shores than over the Irish Sea in this sphere in recent times and this gelding was another who made a mockery of his handicap mark here last time out. Likely to go well again off a 6lb higher mark.

Disappointing favourite last time out and drops back down in trip but shown better form at courses that ride a little deeper than this and he looks vulnerable for win purposes.

Not many improve for leaving Mark Prescott's yard but that's what this gelding appeared to achieve here last time out on debut for this yard. May be capable of building on that but will need to if he's to defy a 6lb rise.

Forecasts

Shamash (10/11), Monjeni (9/4), Free Bounty (11/2), Oratorio's Joy (8/1), Uncle Bernie (12/1)

Verdict

SHAMASH is one of several Irish raiders who have come to England's all-weather tracks in recent months and managed to score, after running seemingly average races in Dundalk, perhaps proving how competitive low grade Irish handicaps are. He bids to follow-up and a 6lb rise may underestimate him. Monjeni is another who has to shoulder an extra 6lb but he put in a personal best to win last time and may be capable of building on that. The sole mare in the race Oratorio's Joy has won around here twice before and looks on a lenient mark.
