Winner of a poor race at Musselburgh over hurdles before getting turned over at odds of 1/4 next time. Hung left continuously that day and again looked a tricky ride on the AW last time. Champion rider booked but possibly not the type to take a short price about.

Irish point-to-point winner who made his debut for new yard in a Kempton bumper. Took a keen hold and lost a shoe that day so best to draw a line through that effort. Best watched today against proven performers from yards in better form than his.

Tailed off in all three starts . Yard are going well with five winners from their last nine runners. Has been weak in the market for all three starts. Any positive signals in the ring this time would raise interest.

Showed some promise in bumpers in 2012. Two runs on the AW suggest he is currently a long way below that level.

Bred to be a lot better than has been evident so far. Tailed off on his hurdling debut which followed a nine month absence. Trainer is 13-32 here and trainer/jockey are 5-7 here this season. Another to note in the market in first time hood.
Little signs of ability thus far both on the Flat and under NH rules. Will struggle against these on today's terms.

Makes hurdling debut having looked in need of both runs in bumpers. Yard have gone a fortnight without a winner and recent runners have performed below par.
Fair Flat performer suited to patient tactics. Has failed to stay on both previous starts over hurdles but may have been too keen on those occasions. Would have a big chance in a weak race if able to reproduce his Flat form.

Forecasts

Fattsota (4/7), Hardrock Davis (5/1), Zabeel Star (6/1), Snow Castle (7/1), Global Ruler (12/1), Cup Of Ambition (20/1), Great Roar (66/1), Hooks Lane (100/1)

Verdict

Fattsota will probably be a false price based on what has been achieved so far. Having looked far from keen on his last start over hurdles, and again on the AW, a chance is taken with ZABEEL STAR. His trainer does well with his small string and the selection boasts a useful turn of foot. A dual winner on the Flat he has struggled, when fancied, in his two previous starts over hurdles in smaller fields when he has raced too freely. He has run well on the AW this winter but connections switch him back to hurdles now his Flat handicap mark looks excessive. Hardrock Davis represents connections that do well here and are in good form.
  1. Zabeel Star
  2. Fattsota
  3. Hardrock Davis
