Ready winner on soft ground at Southwell two starts ago, though never really travelling before falling last time under a penalty. A return to form would make him tough enough to beat despite the penalty.

Was in the process of running a nice enough race when falling on his point-to-point debut last year. Hood applied for this first rules start and yard in reasonable form, so should be able to make a respectable debut.

£14,000 buy. Reasonable effort on debut in a Catterick bumper before Christmas and fell too early to say how he might have finished when back there in a maiden hurdle last time.

Only steady improvement made in four point-to-points and changed hands for £11,000 last spring at the sales. Makes debut for a top Northern yard that is in superb form. Market confidence would make him interesting.

Steady progress over hurdles so far and runner-up at Doncaster last time (2m½f, soft). A repeat should be good enough to pick up some prize money here, though he needs to improve to break his duck.

£44,000 purchase who has shown just moderate form in both bumpers and his Ludlow hurdles debut last time. Likely to do better when handicapping.
