Fairly useful on the Flat in France but has failed to transfer that form to three starts over hurdles in this country. Would need to improve plenty to get involved with the best of these, and he's best watched here.

7/1
French import who ran well enough at Wetherby on British debut in January when finishing fifth, and who holds the stand-out piece of form on offer in the field, when he filled the runner-up spot behind subsequent Triumph Hurdle third Bapaume on debut. Big player.

Fell at the first on hurdling debut at Market Rasen in December before failing to get involved during his first completion at Warwick next time (2m, good to soft). Finished a well beaten fourth that day, and other make more obvious appeal here.

Has shown nothing of particular note on two starts over hurdles so far having failed to get off the mark on the Flat in largely poor quality events in 11 attempts. This might be a slightly easier task than those two other jumps races, but much more would still be required.

Moon Arrow51

Jumping mistakes let him down when fairly narrowly beaten on hurdling debut at Catterick last month, in similar conditions to what he's likely to experience today. Entitled to come on for that run and should be on the premises once again here today.

Boutan35

3/1
Fair Flat performer who was beaten only a nose on her hurdling debut at Ffos Las in December (2m, soft), but has failed to build on that promise since, running largely forgettable races in similar contests to this since. Place claims, but others rate more likely winners.

Forecasts

Moon Arrow (9/4), Boutan (3/1), Fixed Rate (10/3), Alcanar (4/1), Gris De Pron (7/1), Dusky Raider (7/1), Maroc (10/1), L'emir D'art (10/1)

Verdict

If improving on his jumping, this can go to MOON ARROW, who was a very eye-catching runner-up at fairly big odds on jumps debut at Catterick last time, and would have finished a lot closer to the winner if he hadn't made bad mistakes on more than one occasion. He could be the one to side with in a race where a fair few have a chance, including Gris De Pron, second to the talented Bapaume on his debut in France last year, and interesting newcomer Dusky Raider.
  1. Moon Arrow
  2. Gris De Pron
  3. Dusky Raider
