Has not won in two years and 31 races. Last of 13 most recently over a trip short of her best. That was an uncharacteristically poor effort and she takes a drop in class.

Winner of five races from 22 starts, including two under today's rider at Carlisle. Has run with credit in better company since and has gone well when fresh in the past. Makes AW debut for yard that are 4-24 around here. Sire gets his share of winners on artificial surfaces.

Has been in tremendous form this winter and encountered some traffic problems when failing to justify favouritism last time. That run proved she can be competitive off this mark.

Beat two horses at level weights who were subsequently rated 78 and 88. Ran a scorcher under this rider, on debut for this yard, in a much better race last week. Looked a future winner that day and shaped as though she will get the extra furlong.

WInner of a maiden by 5L last April and lightly raced since. Landed some good bets back from an absence last week and a market check is again advised. Drops in distance but showed a good turn of foot off a slow pace last time.

Verdict

HELLS BABE looked potentially well treated going into a hot race last weekend against fitter rivals who were at the top of their form. She did well to finish third behind a well supported winner having kept on well once headed. Auntie Barber drops in distance but was always travelling strongly last time in a slowly run race. She quickened up nicely that day and may have the gears to be competitive at this trip. Simply Me has been in good form this winter having landed four races and going close in two others. Those battling qualities makes her impossible to dismiss in what looks a tight contest.

  3. Simply Me
