Inconsistent type but won well at Aintree last time over 2m4f. Step back up in trip will hold no fears. Best performances have come on better ground than what's forecast here and he's no certainty to return in the same form so may be best watched off the back of an absence.

Disappointing last time at Ascot and best performances have come in heavy ground. Very useful chaser on his day but may not get the ground quite soft enough here. Chase mark looks on the high side for what he's achieved in recent times and he looks regressive.

Disappointing here last time when a well beaten fourth of six and he's done all his winning on right-handed track so that has to be a concern once again today. First-time cheekpieces will need to have the desired effect if he's to get competitive in this.

Bounced back to form last time after failing to finish on his previous three starts and if he can build on that, this two-time Grade 2 winner could be well-handicapped but yard form has to be a concern.

Put in his best performance for quite some time when taking a valuable race of this type at Sandown on his penultimate start off a 7lb lower mark. Well below that form last time out after making a bad mistake at the first though and yard have been quiet so he may be best watched.

Ran well at Ascot in November but under-performed in two outings at Taunton at the end of the year. Given time to recover and has won over C&D before so certainly one to consider.

Two-time course winner who is still capable of running well as seen at this course last time but looks vulnerable to something better handicapped and can be an in and out performer these days so no certainty to back up last times respectable effort

Goes in search of a four-timer having scored under a penalty at Plumpton last time. Looks to be more to come but last three wins have been on heavy going and the handicapper hasn't taken any chances, putting him up a stone. That may be enough to stop him for now.

Capable of running well when things fall his way but 9lb higher than his latest win when onl narrowly prevailing seems harsh and he'll need the new combination of headgear to bring about some improvement.

Has slipped to a mark just 1lb above the one he won from over hurdles at Stratford in May. Well beaten all starts since, including over fences last time and readily opposed.

Forecasts

Vieux Lille (4/1), Shotavodka (9/2), Dawson City (5/1), Killala Quay (13/2), Bodega (7/1), Call Me Vic (9/1), Coolking (9/1), Cloudy Too (10/1), Ganbei (10/1), Tinker Time (20/1), Pete The Feat (20/1)

Verdict

A largely exposed bunch but there's a chance DAWSON CITY is on a more than fair mark after his recent 7lb hike and might just outstay this bunch. Tinker Time was disappointing when last seen but has been given a break and he may be able to bounce back while Killer Quay is of some interest but it should be noted that the yard have been quiet in recent weeks.
  1. Dawson City
  2. Tinker Time
  3. Killala Quay
