Went off second favourite for the cross-country race at the Festival two years ago, proving slightly disappointing before making amends at Aintree the following month. Pulled-up on comback run when making his debut for this yard and not a lot of encouragement in that effort so looks opposable against some worthy adversaries.
Point-to-point winner who completed a hat-trick under rules last time at Lingfield and generally been consistent for this yard. Good chance if turning up in the same form.
Can make the odd jumping error but should be sharper for recent return at Taunton. While he stays fine, possibly more effective over shorter differences and looks vulnerable for win purposes.
Still a maiden over fences under rules and jumping can be sketchy to say the least; he looks up against it against some classier rivals.
Has run well in point-to-points in the past but not much form under rules to shout about and looks a little long in the tooth now.
Begins life for a new yard here but not won for some time and has a significant absence to overcome. Market support would be interesting but there appears to be more likely contenders.
High-class handicapper for the Phillip Hobbs team but didn't show much spark on comeback run last time. First-time cheekpieces need to spark him back to life but he's a contender if that plan succeeds and he'd have too much class for these if back to anything like his best. Market may be the best guide to his chances.
First run for this yard since leaving Harry Fry but plenty of promise on comeback effort at this course last time when fourth behind classy veteran Soll. Versatile ground wise and has won over three miles so he's respected.
Impressive winner at Newton Abbot just over two year's ago but not been pulling up any trees in point-to-points since and while her stamina is assured, she may struggle against some classier opponents.
Forecasts
Man Of Steel (11/8), Triangular (10/3), Boardwalk Empire (6/1), Ballytober (9/1), Roalco De Farges (9/1), Duke Of Lucca (12/1), Lookslikerainted (33/1), Young Cheddar (33/1), Long Strand (66/1)
MAN OF STEEL looks like a leading contender on his form under rules and he would appear to have a good relationship with this jockey, with the pair having won their last three starts together. Roalco De Farges would be a danger if he returned to anything like his best and any money for him could prove significant while similar could be said for Triangular who was a respectable fourth at this course when last seen and may be able to build on that.
- Man Of Steel
- Roalco De Farges
- Triangular
