Half-brother to four winners and fetched 4,000 guineas as a foal. Third in a run of the mill bumper here in November. Yard are 7-107 in bumpers for the past five seasons but that improves to 2-11 here.
Runner-up to a well supported rival here in November and holds Drums Of War on that effort. Looked in need of the experience that day but ran no sort of race next time in a hotter contest. Trainer 14-117 in bumpers.

€12,500 purchase. Fourth foal of an unraced dam who is a sister to winning hurdler/chaser On The Other Hand and half-sister to useful chaser Benvolio. Jockey comes here for only one scheduled ride and is 4-19 in bumpers this season.
Fetched €420,000 as a foal but was sold unraced for just 1,000 guineas last July. Half-brother to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Just The Judge. Yard are 0-42 for past five seasons and a watching brief is advised.

Probably outperformed his 50/1 odds when fifth of 12 on debut here in January. Like many here, he is bred to do better over further. Yard are still searching for their first winner in a bumper.

Showed ability in a couple of junior bumpers last October. Has been given a break since a weaker effort and the market should be informative. Trip may be on the long side.

Brother to bumper winner Starplex who showed promise on his Doncaster debut in a more competitive race than this. Had a lot of use made of him here last time and that run is best ignored. Another to note in the market.

First foal of a dam who was a triple winner on the Flat in France. Yard are 2-77 in bumpers over the past five seasons.
Bought for £800 at Doncaster in January. Second foal of a dam who is related to Gold Cup winner Imperial Call. Stable had a winner last weekend and are 2-49 in bumpers.

Ninth foal of a dam who is yet to produce a winner. Yard are 3-30 in bumpers (further nine placed) since 2012.
£2,000 buy and the 12th foal of a dam who has produced four winners. Sire struggles to get winners in this class of race as does the stable.

Western Lass36
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: K Scott
18/1
£10,000 purchase and bred to win a race of this nature being a half-sister to bumper winner Princess Roania. Dam won a bumper as did her half-sister. Shaped well on debut behind two previous winners in a slowly run race.

Forecasts

Wemyss Point (3/1), Crixus's Escape (5/1), Drums Of War (11/2), Paddyplex (8/1), Porto Du Sud (8/1), Kelpies Myth (17/2), Go Go Lucas (10/1), Sindarin (12/1), Wee Bogus (16/1), Western Lass (18/1), Reivers Lodge (33/1), Faraday Effect (40/1)

Verdict

WESTERN LASS came up against a highly regarded pair (Better Getalong and Some Reign) at Kelso last time. There is nothing of that calibre in this lineup and a better gallop here can only help. Go Go Lucas ran well in a hot race here and should go well whilst Crixus's Escape makes most appeal of the newcomers. Paddyplex and Kelpies Myth need to be excused poor runs last time and market signals should be observed.
  1. Western Lass
  2. Go Go Lucas
  3. Crixus's Escape
