Solid effort last month over 1m4f around here, blinkers go on now and, with handicap mark still on the slide, dangerous to write him off over this shorter trip.

Just 1lb higher than when going very close over C&D last month, eventually settling for third. Fair claims of being involved in the finish once more.

Best form around here includes three wins at the trip, though most recently in March 2015. Went close this trip last month, though since disappointed over longer. Hard to be confident at the moment.

Hasn't won since August 2015 and yet to score on AW, though did run with some promise over this C&D three weeks ago on first start for this trainer. Off the same mark, could have a say.

Scored here last week over 1m4f on first outing since October, has to be respected in follow up attempt off 4lb higher coming back to a race he won 12 months ago over this shorter trip.

Well held over 1m4f here in January, since switched yards and out of luck in two starts over hurdles. Has plenty to find on form.

Been running consistently over shorter trips at this track this year, including towards end of January over the mile. Interesting contender now stepped up in distance.

Winner over 1m4f here in January, run well in two other outings since turn of the year though most recently was a bit lacklustre over today's trip. Capable of having a say.

Won over this C&D in February 2014 although the fact he has run just three times subsequently is a major concern. Not without some promise here in January on most recent outing.

Has had just two runs back from more than 900 days off the track, shaped better over 1m4f last week and isn't entirely discounted despite unfavourable weights.

Running credibly enough in three visits to this track so far this year, without threatening to win. Beaten 6L over 1m4f a fortnight ago, needs more from somewhere.

Much better effort in handicap debut over a mile here a fortnight ago, upped in trip has to be given some chance of figuring in the finish.

Still a maiden after 21 runs, just two of them for this trainer and ran well enough over a mile last time at this track five weeks ago. Tongue strap on now, needs something extra.

Verdict

Locus Standi won this contest a year ago and needs major respecting this evening having scored over a longer trip on return from a layoff last week. He is likely to give this a bold attempt now. Repare Mon took a sizeable step forward on his handicap debut here last time out and is respected as a result with the likelihood of a bit more to come yet. Cristy's Call is a three-time C&D winner and has run well this year already, though must bounce back off a substandard recent effort while Hello Humpfrey is another with some form worth paying attention to since the turn of the year. Shepherds Crook makes some appeal upped in distance having run some pleasing races recently but a chance is taken on SIX SILVER LANE, who went close off a 1lb lower mark last time and may be able to snare this prize with the blinkers added.
  1. Six Silver Lane
  2. Locus Standi
  3. Shepherds Crook
