Bounced back from some mediocre recent efforts to score here a week ago over longer trip. Raised just 1lb for that but yet to win in 12 outings at this 7f trip.

In fine fettle of late, winning two of three C&D outings since turn of the year. Given a nice break since last win in February and, while 5lb higher, dangerous to rule out the chance there is more to come.

One slightly promising run (from three) since joining current trainer. Back up in trip here but formbook gives him little chance of an upset.

Beaten 1L into third last week over much longer trip, drops significantly in distance and had gone close over a mile on penultimate run. Should be involved at the business end.

Another solid effort over 6f at the beginning of the month, taking second spot behind Split The Atom. 3lb lower for this longer trip, but is now 17 runs without a win.

Off the track since November, showing some minor promise in mile handicaps before the break. Open to improvement but not favoured by terms on return.

Resolute servant, won over 6f here last month and since just foiled in Wolverhampton raid at same distance. Now 6lb higher than previous course win, may be settling for place money.

Has two wins from nine attempts on the AW but four recent efforts have been underwhelming, including debut for this trainer over C&D beaten 9L and last of the finishers eight days ago.

Lightly-raced but yet to pose any kind of threat in eight runs, two most recent since joining this trainer on this track. Drops back in trip now but has it all to prove.

Came within a whisker of breakthrough win over C&D last month, denied in a head-bobber. Since run much less encouragingly eight days ago and not one for trusting.

Forecasts

Burn The Boats (3/1), Elusive In Paris (3/1), Arbourfield (10/3), Hes Our Music (4/1), Windsorlot (7/1), Oor Jock (8/1), Indian Tomahawk (25/1), Pemberton Snow (66/1), Slaney River Run (100/1), Scobias (100/1)

Verdict

A trappy contest to begin proceedings and it might pay to side with ARBOURFIELD coming back off a short layoff. He has two C&D wins from three outings this year and may be capable of defying his career-high mark to score again. The dangers are headed by Elusive In Paris and Burn The Boats, the former is versatile so this drop in trip isn't a worry after last week's close second. Burn The Boats is anything but reliable and hasn't won for some time, but certainly has been threatening of late. Oor Jock is in good heart although he is up in the weights since his 6f win here last month while last week's winner Hes Our Music is not as effective and has failed to win in a dozen attempts at this trip.
  1. Arbourfield
  2. Elusive In Paris
  3. Burn The Boats
