Campaigned over what looked an inadequate 6f and 7f as a juvenile and has just the one handicap start at the end of last season. Returns here dropped in class, with tongue strap fitted and over a more suitable-looking trip. Looks a very interesting contender.
Has had a busy enough winter with six runs, being second in both an auction maiden and a 1m4f handicap on her last two starts. Races from the same mark here and it would be no surprise if her top yard added another to the winners column.
It was always likely that this daughter of Cacique would show more when sent handicapping and she duly obliged first time from a mark of 55 over C&D last time. Front three put daylight between themselves and the rest that day, so there is at least hope that the form is solid. Up 8lb today which looks a serious question to answer.
Has 2L to find with Bessemer Lady on their running here last month and has a 5lb pull with her to help. Given that it was her handicap debut, she may find some improvement and it would be no surprise to see her bridge the gap.
Won a Southwell maiden auction contest in January and remains 4lb higher, a mark from which she has been found wanting twice since. First try on this surface and not written off just yet, though probably best watched today.
Has dropped 9lb for three defeats since being gelded in the autumn and really ought to be competitive from today's mark. Stepped up to a trip that pedigree suggests will take a bit of getting.
33/1 but went very close to winning on his handicap debut over the extended 1m1f last month. Not sure how strong that form is, but this step up in trip may well enable him to improve and from just 2lb higher he should be thereabouts.
Runner-up in a 1m handicap at Southwell last time and races off the same mark today. Worth a try over this longer trip and pedigree suggests that it may be in range. Market check advised to gauge confidence that he will get it.
Not bred to be getting home over this far, as recent efforts testify and looking in need of a bigger drop in the weights before this seven-race maiden comes good.
Forecasts
Bessemer Lady (11/4), The Last Debutante (3/1), Knightsbridge Liam (5/1), Spirit Of Rome (13/2), Ladofash (9/1), Av A Word (10/1), Log Off (14/1), Intisha (22/1), Affair (100/1)
Moderate fayre where the suggestion is INTISHA on her handicap debut. The Last Debutante, Knightsbridge Liam and Spirit Of Rome should all be involved, while Bessemer Lady can't be ruled out but looks vulnerable after an 8lb rise.
- Intisha
- The Last Debutante
- Knightsbridge Liam
