Is a previous C&D winner and now rated 7lb lower than when finishing fourth in this contest a year ago. Decent effort at Naas this month over trip shorter than ideal makes him of interest now.
Behind Captainofthefleet last time at Naas, upped in trip should be capable of having a say again, though perhaps a bit high in the weights for win purposes.
Two solid efforts at Leopardstown either side of the New Year, weakened out of things at Punchestown last month, all over 3m. Yard in red-hot form.
Stable debut and first run for 265 days when beaten a long way at Naas ten days ago. Upped in trip now, could be capable of a bit better.
Found things happening too fast over 2m here in January, has gone close over this trip before and best form is at staying trips. Interesting contender on handicap hurdle bow.
Excellent effort behind Sutton Manor over this trip last month at Thurles, may pay to forgive subsequent no-show back at that track. Can get involved though doesn't win many (3/24 over flights).
Won three times over fences this season, including over 2m2f at Thurles 28 days ago. Up to 3m for this but off reduced hurdles rating must have leading claims.
Ten-year-old isn't the most reliable or durable, ran a fair race at Thurles recently but has to prove stamina for this trip and not favoured at the weights.
Forecasts
Westerner Point (6/4), Captainofthefleet (6/1), Rue Hill (7/1), Hollow Tree (7/1), Vinnie Luck (7/1), Woodford Island (8/1), Notwhatiam (8/1), Tarabiyn (50/1)
VINNIE LUCK could be the answer now sent handicapping for the first time. His best form is over this sort of trip, including a solid effort in a maiden hurdle at Listowel in September. Having acquitted himself well enough over 2m here in January, he looks capable of scoring now. Captainofthefleet has winning C&D form in the book and is weighted to go well again now. Woodford Island's trainer is in brilliant form, so he is considered too while Westerner Point will be a massive danger to all concerned if he's able to transfer his chase form to these smaller jumping tests.
- Vinnie Luck
- Captainofthefleet
- Westerner Point
