Posted a very encouraging effort on his chasing debut at Doncaster in January but certainly wasn't in the same frame of mind when he went to Taunton last month. He has the blinkers applied today, which ,may help him keep his mind on the task in hand, as he has solid claims if he can dish out a repeat dose of he previous Town Moor form.
Has failed to capitalise on a couple of good chances lately and comes in to this with a little prove. However, he has responded well since being asked to race in a visor and, with the champion jockey back in the saddle for a third time; and from a 2lb lower mark than last time, he has plenty going for him. The fact that he hasn't won for over a year is a little disconcerting, though.
Won on heavy ground at Uttoxeter in January but has been found wanting after reassessment; she dropped away very tamely in mares only race last time out and needs to show a lot more resolution this tie around. The first-time visor and small field may help.
Forecasts
Krackatoa King (8/11), Towering (11/4), Timon's Tara (10/3)
TOWERING is better than he showed last time out and, if he is revitalised by the fitting of blinkers, he has a chance of gaining a confidence booster. The gelding gets the trip well and should appreciate the predicted going description. Timon's Tara was held off her current mark last time out, so it may be down to Krackatoa King to give the selection the most to think about.
- Towering
- Krackatoa King
- Timon's Tara
