Narrowly sets the standard on the official ratings but hasn't really achieved much in his five previous starts; looks a thorough stayer in the making, though, so it's entirely feasible he will improve once greater emphasis is placed on his stamina.

Shown very little in two starts under rules; tailed off at Hereford in his latest and already has a bit to prove on that performance alone. Did win a point-to-point over 3m last December, though. Which gives hope for the future once he has more experience and has found his level in handicaps. One to watch on this occasion.

Showed promise when winning a modest bumper on debut at Perth and has slowly been getting the hang of things over hurdles. Comes in to this after a fair effort to finish third in a similar race at Exeter last month (finished just over 10l behind the 128-rated winner). Today's extra couple of furlongs may bring about some further improvement. One to bear in mind at this level.

Sent off as the 1/4 favourite on his recent debut for his current yard but got very tired and had to concede as second-best near the finish. Safe to assume that outing will have sharpened him up a fair deal and, given that he tries a new trip, he has plenty of scope for improvement. This looks a more competitive heat and the betting market is likely to be informative once more. Sound place claims if he copes with the extra distance.
Snapped up for £110,00 after impressing as the winner of a point-to-point over 3m in Ireland last November; and has been found a modest race in which to make debut for Philip Hobbs' bustling in-form yard. Very interesting contender and has to be considered if the market vibes are strong.

Obviously had training issues as he endured a long time on the sidelines before making decent progress in two recent starts for his new yard. More required this time but is going the right way and can be placed to good effect in handicaps whatever happens after this.

Only modest form so far and difficult to see him figuring as a leading contender after fading tamely at Huntingdon last time out. However, his yard remains in good form, so it would be noteworthy if the betting market suggested the first-time tongue-tie will bring about some improvement.

Failed to complete either of his previous starts and looks a risky proposition from a betting perspective just now.
Made no impact in three previous attempts in similar races and has been beaten a distance on each occasion. In good hands and his rider's 7lb won't do any harm, but others readily preferred.

Well beaten in two bumpers and was never in contention on his debut over hurdles at Newbury earlier this month. Very hard to fancy on that evidence.

Forecasts

Robbin'hannon (9/4), Fortified Bay (7/2), Oscars Boss (5/1), Burst Ya Bubble (11/2), Shanty Town (7/1), Stick To The Plan (8/1), The Tin Miner (50/1), Walter Oneeightone (50/1), Clondaw Rigger (100/1), Dewberry (100/1), Western Storm (100/1)

Verdict

If money talks, then Robbin'hannon is surely going to be hard to beat. He cost his connections £110,000 after winning a point-to-point in Ireland and starts his hurdling career at a very realistic level. He is certainly worth a check in the betting and appeals as a long-term prospect. However, there could also be profit to be made in giving FORTIFIED BAY another chance to get off the mark. He at least has experience of racing over timber and is forwarded as a value option. Oscars Boss also makes appeal on the pick of his form up to press and edges a verdict over Burst Ya Bubble as the best of the rest.
