Trainer in great form at present and this one is part of her current good run, winning well at Carlisle (took big drop back in trip), jumping well and making all. Handles soft/heavy well and 7lb rise for that win looks fair. Solid chance.

Handles soft/heavy conditions well (all six wins under those conditions) and added another to his tally at Kelso last time, the first time tongue strap helping him battle on to a 1¾l win. Upped in trip today, which asks a new question.

Consistent but hard to win with, and hasn't tasted victory snc 2014, but hard to knock what he's doing at present and despite looking a bit reluctant early, kept on well to take second at Kelso latest. Comes with risks, and faces competition for lead here.

Nothing wrong with his second to the fast-improving On The Road at Sedgefield latest, although a 3lb rise for that doesn't make his task easier, and another that will want the lead here. Handles soft ground fine, but this is a bit tougher.

Has really found her stride over fences now, and has come right away in the closing stages at both Towcester and Warwick for easy wins. Well in under a penalty here, handles the likely deep ground and stays well. Every chance of the three-timer.

Forecasts

Buttercup (7/4), Wolf Sword (9/4), Grove Silver (9/2), Spanish Fleet (6/1), Clan Legend (9/1)

Verdict

Only five runners but not the easiest to solve, especially as there's plenty of competition for the lead. The one that doesn't need to lead is BUTTERCUP, who has really found form after her disappointing Wincanton effort back in January. She has no issues with trip or ground and can take this race by the scruff of the neck early in the straight. Grove Silver impressed on his latest start and can't be allowed too much rope up front, and can fill the places out along with Wolf Sword.
  1. Buttercup
  2. Grove Silver
  3. Wolf Sword
