Appeared to have bags of stamina when scoring at Ffos Las in June. Had a subsequent winner behind in third that day but there has been no reproduction of that effort in five starts since. Better ground here may help but, with yard just 2-36 in past two weeks, there may be better options.
Winner over 2m at Lingfield and not disgraced behind a nice prospect next time. Beaten favourite and somewhat disappointing last time after a two month break. More expected over a trip that he is bred to stay and with the stable in form.
Has been crying out for a stiff test such as this. Handicap mark looks right based on what has been seen so far. He could be a lot better than that and is one for the shortlist.
Showed improvement over this sort of trip last time on better ground. Irish point-to-point winner has scope to advance further and needs it defy a 4lb rise in the weights.
Likes a test of stamina around. Switched to hurdles having lost his way over the bigger obstacles recently. Refused last time when he was never travelling well and, looks hard to recommend until proving his appetite for the game. Stable took this last year.
Makes handicap debut off a mark which suggests the handicapper is taking few chances. Yard are just 3-33 with hurdlers here. Open to improvement and a market check is advised.
Has earned a handicap mark following three progressive runs down the field. Those efforts have come during a quiet spell for a yard who are now showing signs of an imminent revival. Worth a check in the market.
Showed little for the switch into handicaps last time and now tries a longer trip. Stable are struggling for winners at present.
Had shown little prior to a gamble wagered on him at Lingfield for his handicap debut. He travelled strongly until making a crucial error two out. Ran poorly at Fakenham next time when ridden from the front and gets a chance to prove that effort is wrong.
Forecasts
This Is It (3/1), Pure Vision (10/3), Alfie's Choice (5/1), The Two Amigos (7/1), Barney From Tyanee (11/1), Schnabel (12/1), Alfred Roller (12/1), St Dominick (12/1), West Torr (14/1)
The step up in trip may be just what PURE VISION needs after disappointing last time. Earlier efforts at Lingfield and Uttoxeter suggest that last run was all wrong and the stable are going well at present. The Two Amigos is feared following an improved showing last time but the form did not look strong enough to warrant a 4lb rise in the weights. This Is it is lightly raced but has shown clear ability in that time. He has been crying out for a stiff test such as this and the handicapper has given him a chance. Market moves for either of the handicap debutants Schabel and Alfie's Choice would be interesting.
