Generally been consistent this term, well below best over 2m4f at Gowran Park last month. Tongue strap on today and isn't to be ruled out.
Good winner at Fairyhouse in January over 3m, didn't find as much as looked likely in next start at Naas. May bounce back in this.
Now a teenager, on an attractive looking mark were he to repeat penultimate effort at Limerick from December, since been pulled up at Naas last month.
Switch to hurdles here last month (2m) didn't bring about any improvement in recent form. Up significantly in trip but has it all to prove.
Yet to hit the frame in ten starts over fences, pulled up on two outings since turn of the year.
Should be fit enough having run 3m hurdles race at this track early in the month. Handicap chase debut and with just two starts over fences is open to improvement.
Hasn't shown much in three starts over fences and some questions still hover over his jumping ability.
Second at Thurles in similar company last month, raised 2lb and could go well again though he isn't exactly reliable.
Beat off Flynsini to score at Thurles last month, weights suggest it will be closer but possible he'll be able to uphold the form.
Is now 7lb below previous winning mark, weighted to have a fair claim but recent form is not encouraging.
Good effort at Thurles in January when third off an absence over 2m5f. Was favourite for this race a year ago when unseating at the first fence.
No impression at Leopardstown early this month in similar company over 2m5f, weakening out of contention, first-time tongue strap on today.
Third at Fairyhouse last month over 2m5f, jumping costing him chance at crucial juncture. Capable of having a say again, though doesn't win out of turn.
Forecasts
Dinnie's Vinnie (11/2), Soaring High (6/1), Town Pond (6/1), Larry Capri (13/2), Flynsini (7/1), Oscar Chimes (7/1), Garrai Phaidin (9/1), Witness Of Fashion (16/1), Old Time Melody (16/1), Boss Croaker (20/1), Off The Charts (20/1), Germany John (20/1), Thelobstercatcher (25/1)
Dinnie's Vinnie brings winning form into this having scored at Thurles last month, beating off Flynsini to do so. The runner-up is now much better off at the weights but the suspicion is that that the former might have more to offer when push comes to shove. Plenty of the others have questions to answer, but Garrai Phaidin has been mostly consistent this season and is forgiven a rare flop last time, he should be competitive. Witness Of Fashion would have leading claims on a going day but the nod goes to SOARING HIGH. He was favourite for this contest 12 months ago only to unseat at the first and returned to action with a good effort at Thurles in January. If building on that, he is capable of a big run now. Larry Capri, a winner at Fairyhouse in January, is also considered.
- Soaring High
- Dinnie's Vinnie
- Garrai Phaidin
