Steps down in trip having generally been running over further than this, including when well beaten over an intermediate distance last time. Will need to improve for that change, and the ground is also a slight question mark (six wins were all on better ground than this).
Has never won a race but is relatively lightly raced for his age and went close at Market Rasen when last seen in November (2m1f, good). Generally goes well fresh and remains on the same mark in a similar race, so he has to have a chance. Tongue tie on for the first time.
13 race maiden under rules who was beaten less than a length at Towcester on heavy ground two starts ago, which is by far his best recent effort. Consistently places in races such as this, but though he's generally ground-versatile he's gone closest on heavy.
Has been running some good races over further recently, including when when only 1½ lengths by Ambler Gambler here in January. Has remained on a very similar handicap mark throughout and this could be a good time for him to strike dropped in class.
Dual-purpose performer whose recent chase form has been poor, with a close second in a weak contest at Newton Abbot in October the only point of interest. His only career win came on good ground.
Disappointed last time having won at Hereford two starts ago in similar conditions to this. He's only a little higher in the weights here than for that victory and the jockey booking is most eye-catching. One for the shortlist.
Won at this meeting last year but has drawn a blank since. Stepped up in class last time only to unseat at the first (at odds of 100/1), and returns to a more suitable level here. Clearly likes it at this course as a C&D winner, and is given a nice low weight here.

Though EDEIFF'S LAD unseated last time when sent off at 100/1 in a much tougher contest than this, he returns to a much more suitable level here and he can put that behind him to record a second career win. That sole victory having cane over C&D in very similar conditions to this off 1lb higher, so everything looks to be in his favour. Leg Lock Luke should also be involved at the finish having run some nice races recently, including when beaten only 1½ in January, as well as Knight's Reward who looks to be on a workable mark and has the services of the champion jockey.
