Starts out for a new yard here after just two starts in bumpers (virtually refused to race last time) and best watched for now.

Showed some fair form in bumpers when runner-up in small field affairs twice and showed promise on his hurdles debut but that was all back in 2014. Still with same yard but likely to need the run after such a long absence.

4/5
Showed some respectable form on his first start for this yard and Ludlow last time out (2m). Looked a little short of pace on that occasion and this longer trip may well suit him better.
Shaped better than his finishing position on his first start in a Uttoxeter bumper but his jumping on hurdles debut was far from fluent when he was pulled-up at Market Rasen. Should be capable of better but needs to brush up his hurdling technique.

Well held on both starts so far one bumper and one hurdle and has looked green and in need of the experience both times.

Best effort over hurdles came when he was third on his hurdles debut at Plumpton to No Comment in a race that has worked out well. Failed to follow that up next time out when favourite for a Fontwell novice jumping left all the way finishing tailed off. Would have a good chance if repeating his Plumpton form although will need to sort out his jumping tendencies.

Showed very little on his bumper debut finishing last and makes his hurdles debut now.

Well held on his bumper debut when with his previous yard but showed a little bit of promise of this yard on his hurdling debut at Doncaster. Might do a little bit better here and one to keep an eye on for handicaps once he had a mark further down the line.

Looked green and inexperienced on his hurdling debut at Doncaster but did show some promise and no surprise if he stepped forward a little with that run under his belt.

4/1
Has shown some fair form in three outings over hurdles running her best race at Doncaster on her penultimate start. Failed to quite match that run here last time out over shorter and on heavy ground and would have a chance here if she can repeat her Doncaster run.

Well held in her only bumper and her two hurdles starts haven't been much better and she looked flattered by her fourth last time out.

Bobo Mac (4/5), Gibbes Bay (3/1), Banjo Girl (4/1), Potters Approach (4/1), Royalzaro (6/1), Big Mike (16/1), Benefit Of Luck (20/1), Tricky Silence (28/1), Murphy's Nails (33/1), Cake de L'Isle (40/1), Super Charge (40/1), Global Ruler (66/1), Malpreedy (150/1), Potters Grenadier (150/1)

Verdict

Quite a few of these will be interesting for handicaps further down the line and it’s a race worth watching for that factor alone. In terms of winning this race Bobo Mac will have his supporters with longer trip expected to suit. Potters Approach has a major chance based on his form from Plumpton in a race that has worked out incredibly well but his jumping does leave a question mark over his chance. Both Royalzaro and Banjo Girl would be worth a second look especially with the ground likely to suit the latter better. GIBBES BAY gets the nod overall now though especially with the Hereford run under his belt and better is expected from him today.
  1. Gibbes Bay
  2. Bobo Mac
  3. Banjo Girl
