Has shown some promise in three starts over fences and could be an improver in this contest now sent handicapping.

Off the mark over this C&D last time out, raised 4lb for his win but may have more to offer having idled a bit when in front sooner than ideal. Has the scope for better.

Eight runs since last win and has been struggling of late, including when quickly beaten over C&D last month in a race won by Ontopoftheworld. Plenty on to reverse the form.

Sole win over fences came at Down Royal in June 2015 (2m4f, good, good to firm in places), went very close at Clonmel over 2m2f on penultimate start and has fair claims if reproducing that run off a break here.

Useful on his day but doesn't appear to stay this far and he's opposable despite dropping to an attractive mark.

Disappointing on all three starts over fences, latest when pulled up over 2m at Punchestown on handicap debut back on New Year's Eve. Plenty to prove currently.

Forecasts

Ontopoftheworld (10/11), Mr Boss Man (4/1), Bellgrove (5/1), Sunsetstorise (13/2), Rolling Rocket (12/1), Rufino (25/1)

Verdict

Following his C&D success here at the beginning of the month ONTOPOFTHEWORLD is given the nod to follow up in what looks a potentially weak contest. He has a 4lb hike to contend with but should be able to get the job done if delivered a little bit later. Handicap debutant Mr Boss Man is one to look out for as he could be capable of better than has been shown so far. Bellgrove is clearly very capable of running a big race but he isn't the most reliable customer while the remaining trio all have questions to answer.
  1. Ontopoftheworld
  2. Bellgrove
  3. Mr Boss Man
