Chepstow maiden hurdle winner two starts ago, though didn't see out this trip at Sandown when tried in a handicap for the first time last month. Enjoys plenty of cut and should be capable of getting back on track at least to some extent with champion booked for the ride.
5lb higher than for the second of back-to-back wins in the autumn, the first of which came over C&D (good). Not been able to cope with higher marks since and with yard not red hot and best form on a sound surface he looks one to take on.
Conditions and trip should suit his reasonably consistent gelding, who returns to hurdling after being beaten by some decent performers over fences lately. Tough enough task here but not totally ruled out.
Debut bumper winner who came good over hurdles over C&D last time (heavy) from 5lb lower. May be able to find a bit more improvement, though not sure if that is going to be enough to win this.
Back on the same mark from when he won a chase here over 3m in April 2015, which was his last success. Would have a squeak is able to reproduce a couple of runs from December and January, though recent form leaves him with a fair bit to prove.
Ran up a hat-trick in the spring of 2015 (all on good ground) and on that form he comes into this well handicapped, being 5lb lower than the last of those successes. Recent form, however, leaves plenty to be desired.
Remains a maiden after 14 starts, though is now being given a bit of a chance by the assessor. Decent enough effort on heavy ground at Lingfield last time and interesting is there is support for him from 3lb lower and back in a handicap.
Went close from 5lb lower at Wincanton in January over a similar trip (soft), though well held from 1lb higher back there last time and hard to fancy on that basis.
Dual selling hurdle winner here this time last year and does seem to reserve his best for this track. A further 1lb drop for being beaten 4L last time gives him a squeak, though probably has more realistic place claims.

Aengus (9/4), Alf 'n' Dor (3/1), Never Equalled (4/1), Verygoodverygood (5/1), Deebaj (13/2), Calculated Risk (8/1), Paddy's Field (8/1), Mondello (9/1), Russian Service (10/1), Audacious Plan (11/1), Zarzal (20/1)
AENGUS has rocketed up the handicap for two wide margin wins, but in a race where there are plenty of doubts, he is in such good form that he may again be able to stay just ahead of the assessor. Alf 'n' Dor and Deebaj would both be interesting if backed, while Calculated Risk has to enter the equation, along with Never Equalled.
