Has a bit to prove after a trio of modest efforts and then falling at the first at Sandown last month. Represents a highly respected yard, so very likely he is better than he has shown on a racecourse so far. He is a future prospect at least.

Won at Chepstow in a novices' handicap last winter but has shown very little in his starts this season. Hard to recommend just now.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: N D Fehily| T: David Dennis| OR:  114

Claims on the very best of his efforts but he looks a tricky ride and can down tools when things don't go his way. Others preferred.

Consistent if unflattering form figures (almost refused to race at Carlisle earlier this month.) He did rally last time out though, so isn't without ability if he puts his mind to the task in hand. Interesting that he makes quick reappearance for his in-form yard.

Kings Crossp15
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: Lee Edwards| T: A W Carroll| OR:  104
10/1
Struggling to make an impact at the moment and is best left alone for betting purposes just now.

9/2
Flattered by a literal reading of his latest finishing position and is hard to recommend on the evidence of his two starts this season. Others readily preferred.

Dartford Warbler (2/1), Willie Boy (3/1), Ballycoe (3/1), Court Dismissed (9/2), Wade Harper (5/1), Thegreendalerocket (9/1), Kings Cross (10/1)

Verdict

A little bit of a minefield and definite dip in quality in comparison to most of this week's action around the country. Shows Richard Johnson's commitment to the cause that he sticks around to partner Ballycoe, and that may be clue enough for an option as a saver. However, a chance is taken with DARTFORD WARBLER, who represents a yard in-form and the fact that he is turned out quickly after his antics at Carlisle is taken as a positive sign. Willie Boy also represents a yard that has a good record with horses of his type and is another to keep tabs on in the betting.
  1. Dartford Warbler
  2. Ballycoe
  3. Willie Boy
