Confidence had been dented by two falls over hurdles after winning a Thurles bumper in good style in November, but fair second behind Getabird back in this sphere last time in January at Gowran (2m, soft). Leading claims here.

Beaten 43L on debut in a bumper at Fairyhouse in January, needs to improve for that outing to be competitive here.

Defied an absence of more than two years when going down all guns blazing in Gowran Park bumper last month. That was on heavy ground, must be some concern that those efforts will leave a mark after such a long layoff.

Struggled in two bumpers so far, similar tale over hurdles at Gowran Park last week and hard to build any sort of case switching back to this sphere.
Mare finished 18th of 20 in a bumper at Naas in November when last spotted and has plenty to find on the formbook to get competitive.
Just the one outing so far, struggling over 2m2f in a Punchestown bumper on New Year's Eve.

Verdict

This looks likely to rest between HARDLINE and Crackerdancer. The selection has already won one of these at Thurles and, having had his confidence checked with a couple of falls over hurdles, he chased home the well-thought-of Getabird at Gowran Park back in a bumper in January. Despite conceding weight all round, he looks the pick of the bunch. Crackerdancer defied a long absence to go close on stable debut in a Gowran bumper last month, that was a fine effort in the circumstances but there has to be some concern it will leave a mark for this contest. Worth The Oscar has had just one outing and may be best equipped of the remainder in what looks a weak contest.
  1. Hardline
  2. Crackerdancer
  3. Worth The Oscar
