Consistent type who has been running well behind some decent types so far this season. This trip could stretch his stamina though, and the big weight could also prove to be an issue.

Ran well in similar conditions over slightly shorter to win here last time. The trip shouldn't be a problem though, and he's won over staying distances before, and a 6lb rise is fair for a victory that could have been by further if not for a mistake at the last.

Hasn't really fired since moving from Kim Bailey's last year, though his second place finish last time was much more like it, despite him still being beaten 10L. Could still improve over fences despite his age.

Has looked totally out of his depth when pulled up on his three most recent starts. Won and placed in easier races prior to that, but looks out of this on the basis of current form.

Lost his way recently after a promising start over fences. If he can recapture his best form this trip and ground should be perfect, and with blinkers applied for the first time, he's not totally without hope.

Goring One12
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-0| J: David Noonan(3)| T: Miss A M Newton-Smith| OR:  90

Course winner two starts ago who steps up in trip here having failed to quicken up when finishing second at Lingfield last time (2m7½f, heavy). Up 4lb for that last run but looks to have one of the better chances.

Forecasts

City Supreme (2/1), Wizards Bridge (2/1), Fight Commander (11/2), Goring One (11/2), Magic Money (11/1), Leg Iron (28/1)

Verdict

WIZARDS BRIDGE should have his conditions here having won over slightly shorter last time. We know he stays and his slight rise in the weights seems fair, especially as he could have won by further but for a mistake at the last. He looks the most feasible option, ahead of Goring One, who should also be suited by the longer trip in front of the runners today, as well as Flight Commander, who has lost his way over fences but could recapture some of his best form in first time blinkers.
  1. Wizards Bridge
  2. Goring One
  3. Fight Commander
