Back on the same mark as when winning at Stratford last summer, so will be well treated when going back in to handicap company. However, he was very disappointing on his first start for his new yard and now has a bit to prove.
Judging by his form in Norway, he is arguably a better chaser than hurdler. However, he is a consistent performer with winning form ranging between 1m3f on the Flat, all the way up to 3m over hurdles; so has to merit a second look at this level. Recently switched to his Newmarket-based handler, so interesting that the gelding is pitched at this level. One for the shortlist.
Useful during his time in Ireland with Edward O'Grady; then enjoyed a purple patch when he joined his current yard last summer. Seems to have lost his way a little in handicaps of late, which may explain the reason for the drop in grade. Good chance on these terms, even though his jumping can be erratic at times. Worth a small interest but isn't one to trust implicitly for win only purposes.
Posted a very poor effort at Leicester on his debut for a new trainer last time out; hardly a portent for better things to come and, even though he is lightly raced, he does appear to be one to be very wary of just for now.
Rounded off 2016 in good form over fences but has been well held in his last two starts. Reverts to hurdles at a very realistic level but didn't look a natural in this sphere during his time in France, so needs to crank things up a few notches.

The surprisingly small turn out for this given the healthy five-day entries grants SAILORS WARN an opportunity to dominate a small field. His jumping can be a touch wayward on occasions, so there are also grounds for considering Monfalcone as a viable alternative. His Norwegian form has to be taken on trust, but his record looks good in the context of this race and he may be the surprise package. Caprice D'anglaisis taken as the best of the rest.
