Trip and ground look perfect. Back over hurdles following some patchy efforts over fences that include an Ayr victory. Trainer 3-7 in last two weeks.

Winner of a ladies race last time under today's rider when there was little left at the finish. A 7llb rise brings him up to a mark from which he was competitive last year.

More interesting now handicapping following three runs back from an absence. Needs to improve his jumping but not entirely dismissed in a modest race.

Forcing tactics paid off when landing a gamble last week. Escapes a penalty and faces a similar level of opponent here. Looked on an attractive mark that day and will be hard to beat again.

Did not enjoy herself when sent chasing last time. Hurdling efforts prior to that suggest she will be competitive here. Visor fitted for first time and yard are 7-18 in the last two weeks.

Bred to be better than we have seen. The stiffer test is an advantage but there are better options in this.

Rich Man Poor Man12
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-0| J: A Nicol| T: P A Kirby| OR:  71
25/1
Interesting on pedigree but has shown nothing so far. Makes handicap debut from 11lb out of the weights and is of limited appeal.

Forecasts

Knocknamona (5/4), Achill Road Boy (3/1), Massini's Lady (9/2), Cougar Kid (5/1), Rocku (20/1), Rich Man Poor Man (25/1), Ruby Vodka (66/1)

Verdict

KNOCKNAMONA had dropped significantly down the weights before landing a gamble last time. There is no reason to oppose him off the same mark here. Cougar Kid has been set a stiffer test for landing a ladies event last time. He has been competitive off this mark before and ought to be thereabouts. Massini's Lady may be more of a threat for a yard that are in excellent form. She has been shaping as though in need of the stiff test this will demand.
  1. Knocknamona
  2. Massini's Lady
  3. Cougar Kid
