Horse A-Z
Unraced first foal by King's Theatre out of a Flemensfirth mare (Daisies Adventure). Bred for chasing from a stable which is far from a regular supplier of winners in bumpers.

€15,500 three-year-old. A sixth foal by Westerner out of Bobnval and a half-sister to chase and hurdle winner Moncherie. Made a low key racecourse debut when only ninth of 11 to Redemption Song in a similar mares bumper at Wetherby last month (some of today's rivals in front), but stable should always be respected in these races.
Unusually named mare who weakened from three furlongs out when ninth of 12 in an above average Catterick bumper on just her second start last month. A fairly cheap purchase (€2,200 three-year-old), she's most unlikely to be one of this shrewd trainers leading lights with the first time hood applied.

A never competitive seventh of 11 to Redemption Song in a similar mares open bumper on her debut at Wetherby last month, she's probably worth a glance in the betting, but her pedigree isn't too appealing with her Dam a selling hurdle winner.
First foal by Midnight Legend out of Forget The Ref, and bred to stay, so perhaps Fakenham wasn't the ideal place for her racecourse debut. This track is probably more suitable but she needs to build markedly on that fifth of nine in Norfolk to be involved with her better years surely ahead.
£7,000 purchase at Ascot in February 2016, who fared best of those in this race to have clashed at Wetherby when just over 4½L third to Redemption Song at odds of 50/1. That was quite a pleasing debut for a four-year-old against older horses, and she can go well if building upon that positive experience.

11/8
13th foal Beat Hollow filly who represents an Irish trainer who has been in reasonable form of late. Closely related to talented bumper, hurdle and chase winner Minella Theatre, this filly is unlikely to be found wanting for stamina on her racecourse debut.

11/1
Cheap purchase (£3,800 at Cheltenham in December 2016), by Showcasing out of an Efisio mare with a largely Flat based pedigree. Likely to be a surprise is she's involved on her debut despite her trainer traditionally doing well in these type of races.

Forecasts

Who's For Tea (11/8), Donnachies Girl (5/2), Western Lass (5/1), Cockley Beck (6/1), M Seven Seven Gus (8/1), Xin Chao (11/1), Stonebrigg Legend (16/1), Raennavich (16/1), Echo Beat (16/1), Cheenys Venture (100/1)

Verdict

A race in which it's truly impossible to hold a strong view. Donnachies Girl surprisingly came out best of those to have already clashed in a similar contest for mares at Wetherby last month, although it should be noted that Cockley Beck is considered capable of better given her trainers previous strong track record in bumpers. This is undeniably much weaker than the race which M Seven Seven Gus contested at Catterick last month, but the application of the hood is a worry. Whilst generally preferring older horses in these type of races, a real chance is taken with the debutant four-year-old ECHO BEAT, with Will Kennedy an eye-catching booking for local trainer Tracy Waggott. She is related to various winners (including in bumpers), and her trainer is fully capable of saddling winners on the Flat so to speak.
  1. Echo Beat
  2. Donnachies Girl
  3. M Seven Seven Gus
