Winner of three of his last five starts in novice company but fell at Warwick when last seen in action in September. Appeared to be beaten at the time and would probably ideally prefer better ground than is predicted here.
Outclassed when beaten 30L in a Grade 2 mares event at Doncaster in January. Had won her two previous outings in handicap company including off a 9lb lower mark at Southwell in December. Likely to go well again here.
Four time winner over hurdles including off a 3lb lower mark at Leicester in December. Has finished well beaten the last twice however and likely to need more help from the handicapper before finding himself back in the winners enclosure again.
Winner twice as a juvenile hurdler in 2014 but only wins since have come on the Flat. Running well on the Flat last year including when winning at Hamilton but disappointing return to hurdling at Wetherby in December and more needed off a break here.
Winner at Kempton in May 2016 but two most recent outings less inspiring including when 29L behind Colla Pier at Plumpton in September. Has his first start of 2017 here and likely to prefer better ground.
All six career wins have come for his current stable including when winning at Fontwell over fences in September 2016. Has disappointed since however including back over hurdles at Taunton last month and well beaten at Doncaster returned to fences just over a week ago.
Won each of his first two outings, the second of which was a novice hurdle at Warwick in November and put a heavy defeat at Cheltenham behind him when finishing runner-up at Wincanton early last month. Predicted ground should suit and likely to go close on handicap debut.
Runner-up in a point-to-point in November 2014 and victorious in a bumper at Gowran Park in March the following year. Pulled up on five of his six starts over hurdles including in handicaps the last four times and market support would be interesting.
Winner of a handicap hurdle on penultimate outing for previous yard at Limerick in December but well beaten at Naas subsequently. Joined a decent yard and interesting with a top jockey booked to ride here.
Forecasts
Midnight Maestro (6/4), Barrys Jack (4/1), Brotherly Company (7/1), Bleu Et Noir (9/1), Kinnitty Castle (11/1), Late Night Lily (12/1), Sleepy Haven (14/1), El Beau (20/1), Workbench (33/1)
MIDNIGHT MAESTRO is the most unexposed horse in this contest and can register a handicap success at the first attempt here. The selection wasn't beaten far by a stablemate last time out and hails from a yard with an 18% strike rate recently. Second placing can go the way of Barrys Jack on his debut for a shrewd stable while Late Night Lily can claim third under a big weight having been in good form prior to her defeat in a Grade 2 contest last time out.
- Midnight Maestro
- Barrys Jack
- Late Night Lily
