Fifth in a Haydock bumper on heavy in November when appearing to have a chance approaching the final few furlongs and ran to a similar level on quicker ground at Musselburgh next time. More needed.
Changed hands for just €2,800 and makes no real appeal on pedigree. Stable not noted for bumper winners and he wouldn't appear to be of obvious interest.
Was a well-touted favourite on his debut at Wincanton and looked to be good value for the support until he started to tire near the finish. Returned 10 months later to finish third under a more restrained ride at Southwell in January and looks a major player.
Cost £24,000 and looks well-bred, being a half-brother to a couple of useful hurdle winners. Represents an in-form yard with a healthy strike-rate in these events, so has to go on any shortlist.
Sent off favourite for his debut in a similar event here in January and shaped with promise to finish third behind Cirano De Sivola (beaten less than 3L) despite not getting the smoothest of passages. No surprise if he was to build on that with a win here.
Flat-orientated pedigree, so something of a surprise to see him begin life in a bumper. Yard not renowned for winners in this code so hard to get excited about unless the market suggests differently.

Ballygown Bay (4/6), Another Stowaway (3/1), Major Davis (7/1), Shivermetimbers (9/1), Don't Act Up (12/1), Lookforarainbow (25/1), Light Flicker (66/1)
BALLYGOWN BAY is Philip Hobbs' only runner on the card and could take some stopping in the hands of the champion jockey having shaped like a future winner in a similar event on his debut in January. Major Davis has also shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature could be within his compass, while Venetia Williams' debutant Shivermetimbers would obviously have to be of interest if the marker spoke in his favour.
