Looked held when falling in a point-to-point at Ballysteen in April last year and makes his rules debut here.
Maiden after 14 outings and well held in a handicap event at Fairyhouse last time out. Likely to find a few too good here.
Sported first time cheekpieces but still in touch when coming down four out at Leopardstown last week. Placed in three of his previous four starts prior to that and likely to run well once more here.
Winner of a bumper at Punchestown in November but well beaten in all three outings over hurdles and likely best watched here.
Point-to-point winner in December and made a solid debut over hurdles when finishing third here last month. Form of that contest looks decent in the context of this event and has a useful conditional in the plate here.
Well beaten in two of three bumper starts (also one unseat) but shaping much better on hurdles debut at Navan last month. Has the seasons leading conditional booked to ride here.
Held up but made some fair late headway despite finishing well beaten at Clonmel earlier this month but likely to prove better suited to handicap company in time.
Maiden after eight outings in point-to-point races the best of which probably came when beaten 10L on heavy ground in December, also well beaten in a bumper at Tipperary in May 2015 and probably best watched here.
Royal Anthem mare out of a 13 race maiden (including four attempts over hurdles). Hails from a good yard and worth a check in the market.
Forecasts
Never Off Duty (4/5), Bosco Di Alco (9/4), Jimmy Breekie (8/1), Ballybryan (14/1), Stole The Show (16/1), Come Home Quick (25/1), Mallwood (25/1), Baby Brain (50/1), Larkfield Lass (66/1)
NEVER OFF DUTY looks likely to prove hard to beat following a promising debut last month. The selection took a point-to-point earlier in the season and should appreciate the extra 3f he'll encounter here compared to his hurdling debut. Of the remainder Bosco Di Alco has some solid efforts in maiden hurdles to his name and can claim the second placing while the debutant Mallwood wouldn't need to be anything special to claim third in this maiden hurdle.
- Never Off Duty
- Bosco Di Alco
- Mallwood
