Tried over 3m2f at Kelso last time but failed to settle. Was still in it two out, but faded from thereon and this drop in trip and hopefully a bit quicker pace should help him to see it out. Could go well from same mark.
Same mark today as when winning a novices' handicap chase at Hexham (3m, heavy) a year ago. Badly out of form since then, but stable has come good just lately, so may be capable of having a say again from today's pitch.
Very interesting handicap debutante who has been unable to get competitive over shorter trips in maiden company. Gets in here with a very workable mark and top Northern pilot booked, so a market check is strongly advised.
2-49 career profile and of that 0-16 over jumps, not even making the frame once. Dropped 18lb this season with just a glimmer of hope in handicaps at Kelso and Musselburgh and not easy to fancy.
Heavy ground bumper winner at Hexham last spring, though has struggled in all starts in novices' and maiden company. Makes his handicap debut today from a lowly mark and perhaps the best suggestion is to check out the market for a guide to expectations.
Been sent off at a minimum 50/1 in all eight starts and shown no signs ob ability thus far. Impossible to recommend on her handicap debut unless the market shouts about her chance.
Forecasts
Kings Eclipse (9/4), The Bishop (3/1), Knocklayde (7/2), Arantes (5/1), Kitty Power (7/1), My Brown Eyed Girl (20/1)
A dire contest that won't take much winning and an eye on the market is well advised regarding the chance of Kitty Power in particular. Without that knowledge, the tentative suggestion is KINGS ECLIPSE now that he is dropped in trip, while The Bishop looks a potential danger with the stable going well.
