Ran out an easy winner on his second start at Chelmsford but handicapper has taken that form quite literally and his jockey kept him up to his work all the way to the line so may not be a lot of juice in this mark. Market can reveal expectations on return from a short absence.
Ran well here behind Sutter County two starts back and she's been progressive this winter but signs the assessor has caught up with her now and she's probably a little better over the minimum trip.
Won a valuable Listed contest at Redcar and previously second in a valuable stakes race at The Curragh. Not effective at Southwell when a short-priced favourite last time and doesn't have an obvious AW pedigree but still a chance he will be too good for these provided he's trained on.
4lb rise for recent win looks fair and fifth placed effort in voided race last time should be ignored. Juan Horsepower who finished behind him at this course in December came out and won on Wednesday and no surprise if he carries on improving.
Another who took part in the voided race at Chelmsford when last seen. Suited by the way the race developed at Newcastle the time before and despite the second coming out and winning again since, he will need to step up again if he wants to win this.
Makes AW debut but the form of his sole win on turf has taken some knocks and he has a significant break to overcome.
Won a respectable looking Nottingham maiden in the summer and best effort for some time at Kempton when last seen at the end of January. Trainer does well with his sprinters and good chance if he builds on his effort from last time off 1lb higher.
Didn't show much in voided race at Cheltenham but conditions were poor and he can be forgiven that. Others look a little better handicapped and he's probably a little better over the minimum trip.
Largely disappointing and didn't need to improve to win a weak looking Wolverhampton maiden last time. Will no doubt need more back in a handicap.
Promising start to her career with two respectable efforts at Ayr but barely beaten a rival home since and passed over once more.
Forecasts
Zamjar (9/2), Alkashaaf (9/2), Wick Powell (5/1), Hemingway (6/1), Royal Opera House (15/2), Erissimus Maximus (8/1), Kamra (9/1), Dazacam (14/1), Blue Bahia (16/1), Whatsthemessage (40/1)
If WICK POWELL has improved from his two-year-old career he may take all the beating in this despite disappointing on AW debut last time and he may have needed that run after an absence. Kamra would be dangerous to rule out if he builds on his recent runner-up effort while the form of Zamjar's most recent win has been franked this week and he may carry on improving.
- Wick Powell
- Kamra
- Zamjar
