His 16L second to Death Duty in a Down Royal bumper last season looks good in the context of this race, but has been beaten a long way in all three starts over hurdles this season, which were similar in nature to this and hard to fancy until handicapping.

Won on his only start on the Flat in France for Andre Fabre. Cost connections €15,000 in 2015 though was not introduced to racing in Britain until January. Has run with some credit on all three starts over hurdles and was just touched off in a similar race at Sedgefield last time. Leading player.
€22,000 buy who was keen and green on his bumper debut at Wetherby in January and lacked fluency when hurdling for the first time at Carlisle, though sure to be learning about the game. Not sure the drop in trip will be ideal and probably best watched for now.

Runner-up in an Irish point-to-point in November on good ground, though pulled up in two other such contests. Makes his debut under rules with trip not looking ideal and hard to get excited about his chance.
Cost just €3,500 after just two point-to-point runs in Ireland, where he might have won the second had he not fallen at the last. Yard may have a bit to work with here and is in great form at present, so watch the market for clues.
Made the frame in a point-to-point and ran well for a long way in a bumper here (heavy) before lacking any toe at the business end. Can improve for that run and get involved, although likely to be more productive over further.

Moderate performer in Irish bumpers before joining current yard, for whom she made mistakes and was always towards the rear on her Musselburgh hurdling debut last month. Need to see more before recommending.
Another from this in-form yard, although needs significant improvement to take a hand based on her recent hurdling debut here, where she beat just one home.
This is her fifth run in reasonably quick time and showed the first real signs of achievement when runner-up here on her hurdling debut last time. If able to build on that after such a busy period then she would be a contender.

Forecasts

Culmination (8/15), Our Valentina (3/1), Well Above Par (11/1), Left Back (14/1), Catch A Lucky Star (16/1), Global Fert (33/1), Glittering Love (33/1), Just Brooke (80/1), Bat Sheva (150/1)

Verdict

CULMINATION looks to be the one to beat here and can go one better than at Sedgefield last time. Left Back is one to watch with interest and with his stable's runners going well, he could make an impact. Our Valentina is another with claims, while Glittering Love looks capable of improvement.
