Just the one win in 30 starts, that coming at Taunton last November (in first time tongue tie, missing here), but had been knocking on the door before that so wasn't the biggest surprise. Ran well again last time out but suspicion is that better ground suits.
Handicapper giving him a chance after some moderate efforts over the last 12 months, but seems to be stopping the rot on last two starts, not beaten far at either Ffos Las or Bangor. The worry is that he's not won since 2013, but he handles soft/heavy and can't be totally discounted.
Early faller last time at Warwick but previous effort (on heavy ground, first time cheekpieces) when second to the improving Gardiners Hill at Hereford marks him out as one of the more likely ones here. Handicapped to win one and has to be on the shortlist.
Jumping technique remains a concern and often hits a fence or two on the way round, but is at least finding some consistency, albeit at a low level. Rather harshly put up a couple of pounds after latest effort and even that might prove too much.
Came good here at the 18th time of asking, coming through to win an incident-packed race quite comfortably in the end, and had excuses for Towcester run before that (made bad mistake when in contention). Going the right way and one of the more likely ones.
Ran well when second to Gardiners Hill at Hereford (travelled nicely) and looks well enough handicapped on that, but disappointing at Plumpton latest (heavy ground) and now gets cheekpieces. Not discounted, but a bit to prove now.
Has to go right-handed (record left-handed nothing short of dreadful) and took advantage of falling handicap mark when winning a small race at Towcester last time. All wins have come in lower grade than today, so needs to pull out more to follow up.
Hasn't shown much so far but has been outclassed, and as such has received a very low mark with which to work from. Did win a couple of point-to-points but on better ground than today, and despite first time tongue tie to help, is passed over.
Did win a couple of handicap hurdles back in 2015 (for Caroline Keevil) but shown very little in three starts for new yard this winter ; first time visor needs to have a big effect.

KNIGHTOFTHEREALM got no further than the third at Warwick on his latest start but he was well backed to win there, and on his previous start he gave notice his turn wasn't far away. Conditions here look fine and he can gain compensation. Moorlands Mist seems to have forgotten how to win, but can get in the prizemoney again along with Shanann Star , who won with a bit in hand last time and looks to be going the right way again.
