Fifth foal by King's Theatre out of a Bob Back mare (Dream Lass). Wears a tongue tie for a stable in better shape of late, and who have already saddled two winners during the month of March 2017. Trainer 13 from 132 (10%) in bumpers over the past five years.
Eighth foal by Sulamani out of Penny's Pride. Home bred (Reveley Farms), and a brother to the useful bumper and novice hurdle winner Crowning Jewel. Half-brother to the former Keith Reveley trained Flora's Pride and Victor Hewgo.
French bred €57,000 three-year-old by Centennial out of Kica. An eighth foal and a half-brother to four winners including staying chaser Kaki De La Pree. Represents a prominent owner, with his Kirkhale based trainer a virtual unknown in bumpers. Interesting.
First foal mare by Overbury out of Ma Dame Mytton. Largely unappealing pedigree (stamina wise) and best overlooked on this deep ground with stable an infrequent source of winners at any level yet alone in bumpers.
€14,000 three-year-old Kalanisi gelding out of High Priestess. Fifth foal and a half-brother to bumper and 2m hurdle winner Princely Conn. Represents a trainer and owners well known for their prowess in bumpers, and should be watched closely for any significant market support.
Third foal by Dream Ahead out of Fondant Fancy who cost only £1,500 as a yearling (dam unraced). Debatable as to whether this extreme test on his debut will suit, and wears the blinkers which is somewhat of a 'flag' already.
Forecasts
Sultans Pride (11/4), Le Frank (11/4), Niceandeasy (7/2), Uluroo (9/2), Rusty (8/1), Easter Mytton (50/1)
A newcomers bumper provides as much of a test for an analyst as it does a jockey. However, there are at least a couple of runners which can be readily ruled out here so this narrows the test markedly. Sultans Pride is another to hail from the well known Reveley Farms breeding operation, and he has to be of some interest given his pedigree and relationship to past winners from that stable. Uluroo represents a trainer not known for her runners in bumpers, but is an expensive French bred with a prominent owner, so is likely to be near the head of the market. However, preference is for NICEANDEASY, whose trainer Keith Dalgleish is 2 from 6 in NHF races this campaign (Hermanous and Dubai Or Not Dubai), and whose local owners Richard and Katherine Gilbert owned a debut Newcastle NHF runner up last month (Wig Wam Wiggle).
- Niceandeasy
- Uluroo
- Sultans Pride
