Form this year is nothing to shout about, unseated rider latest at Gowran a fortnight ago when tackling longer trip. Down in journey and blinkers on now but hard to fancy his chances.
Excellent effort to score Punchestown on New Year's Eve over two-miles despite late mistake, given a break since and likely to figure again in this.
Tends to get on with things, unable to sustain efforts over hurdles of late. Switches to fences now and would be dangerous to discount his chances.
Two wins over fences have come at much longer trips than this, has been out of form recently and takes significant drop in trip.
Good win at Fairyhouse in December over this sort of trip, didn't run as well over further at Leopardstown since and, while more on plate for drop back, should be capable of getting involved.
Two notable runs since going handicap chasing, second over C&D in January behind impressive winner All The Chimneys. Pair are much closer at the weights now however.
Travelled powerfully to beat Ontopoftheworld over this C&D in January, since just failed in a Clonmel contest from which the third came out and won on Thursday. Big claims once more.
No match for easy winner at Down Royal in late January but came home clear of the rest. Gets 1lb back for that effort and is entitled to have his say in this company.
Failed to show any enthusiasm in six trips to the racecourse last year and hard to predict he'll bounce back now.
Forecasts
All The Chimneys (6/4), Ontopoftheworld (9/2), Show And Go (6/1), James (13/2), I Knew Well (7/1), Asitsohappens (10/1), Killer Crow (11/1), Presenting Beara (20/1), Rightback Atya (33/1)
Show And Go produced a career-best to win at Punchestown last time and has been given a nice break since. He's got more on his plate, and some in-form rivals to contend with, but should get involved. I Knew Well is likely to fare better back at this sort of trip, over which he won on his penultimate start in December. The front-running Asitsohappens would be dangerous if taking to fences but the two to focus on might be ALL THE CHIMNEYS and Ontopoftheworld. They were first and second over C&D in January and, while they are closer in the ratings now, the former may uphold that form. He went close since at Clonmel in a race that has produced a subsequent winner in behind and travelled strongly enough here last time to suggest he may hold his old foe despite the pull at the weights enjoyed by the runner-up from that occasion. James, second at Down Royal when last seen, is another for the shortlist.
- All The Chimneys
- Ontopoftheworld
