Horse A-Z
Promising hurdles bow at Punchestown on New Year's Eve but two subsequent runs haven't built on that, question marks over him for now but is exceptionally bred and should get the hang of this soon.

Held up in rear on stable/jumps debut at Gowran Park last month, fell around the midpoint in the race and was sent off 100/1 chance.

Three outings in maiden hurdles so far, there hasn't been much in terms of encouragement from him and looks best watched for now.

Just the two starts behind him and, again, travelled nicely for a long while at Gowran Park latest before fading. Not one to write off completely and may do better again.

Recent efforts at Fairyhouse and Naas have been encouraging, just three starts over timber and going the right way. May have place claims in this.

It has to be of some concern that he has finished second three times over hurdles recently, but last month's effort behind Outspoken was perfectly acceptable given that rival could prove above average. A repeat of that effort here may suffice.

Struggled from a fair way out at Fairyhouse early last month in similar contest over this trip, makes little appeal on the strength of that effort.
Twice-raced maiden on the Flat, makes jumps debut and market might be the best guide to what is expected coming off a layoff.
Newcomer is very much one to monitor in the betting, trainer not quite as hot as early in the year but still operating at 22-per-cent strike rate over hurdles in past two weeks.
Has run against some decent rivals in three starts over timber but, all told, has been a bit disappointing. Still appears to be learning this game and may well do better in time.

Filly has been well held both starts since join this trainer and going over flights, she doesn't appear to have anything in her favour that suggests that will change dramatically now.

Another newcomer, appears to have a fair task in front of her on debut, trainer has saddled just one winner in 2017 to date from 33 runners.

Forecasts

Icario (4/7), A Year To Remember (11/2), On The Go Again (9/1), Stacks Mountain (10/1), From Eden (10/1), Charle Brune (14/1), Tree Of Knowledge (25/1), Wild Desire (25/1), Northern Sky (40/1), Buzz Boy (50/1), Emily Square (66/1), Bobby Boucher (66/1)

Verdict

It is a worry that ICARIO has settled for second three times on the trot but his latest effort at Naas may simply have been against a very decent animal. He was delivered to challenge in good style there and had six-lengths in hand on the remainder of the pack, a similar effort here should see him home in front. Of the others that have run before, From Eden has a couple of pleasing recent efforts behind him but would likely need a jump forward to win this. He has clear place claims while Charle Brune is also showing tentative signs of better form to come. Tree Of Knowledge has been disappointing so far over hurdles but newcomer Stacks Mountain might be capable of a decent showing.
  1. Icario
  2. Stacks Mountain
  3. From Eden
