Came to hand around this time last year. Struggling to match his hurdling achievements over the larger obstacles in the face of some stiff tasks. Handicapper has set him an easier task here.

Followed up two effortless victories in minor company with a narrow defeat last time. That three-runner race may not have gone according to plan as he was not as patiently ridden. That should not be a problem here and he has a leading chance to go one better.

Looked a tricky customer last time and the handicapper has raised 3lb for his defeat by a subsequent winner. Last two victories have come when setting off in front and the presence of Clan Legend makes that a problem.

Front-runner with a 5-17 career record. Handicapper has given him a chance here representing a yard who have had three winners from their last four runners. Trainer took this race named after his father in 2014 and will obviously be keen to do so again.

Should be straighter for two runs back from a layoff. Dropping down the weights and forecast conditions ideal. Stable have taken the last two runnings with similar types and a market check is advised.

Forecasts

Un Prophete (9/4), Master Jake (3/1), Clan Legend (10/3), Forest Des Aigles (9/2), Ash Park (7/1)

Verdict

UN PROPHETE can take this in the belief that the pace Clan Legend will set is going to play to his style of racing. He likes to be held up off a strong pace but still shaped well last time despite not getting the race run to suit. Clan Legend's trainer will be keen to win this and with his horses going well he is impossible to rule out. Forest Des Aigles represents a yard with a good record in this and a market move will make him even more interesting.
  1. Un Prophete
  2. Clan Legend
  3. Forest Des Aigles
