Appears better over a bit shorter than this and first-time blinkers retained today only brought about small improvement last time and looks poorly handicapped on what he's achieved in recent times.
Won on debut for this yard at Chelmsford but handicap mark looks on the stiff side and probably better suited by the track he won his maiden at. Yard been quiet and the booking of one of the less experienced apprentices who can claim 7lb may suggest connections think this gelding will need the weight off his back.
Shown very little on recent starts and probably better on the turf than AW. Also capable of blowing his chance from the stalls so not one to rely on.
Two wins at Southwell to his name recently and while the form of those efforts has a solid look to it this is something of a different test and he will need to improve again if he's to be capable of scoring off this high mark with an awkward draw out wide.
Not beaten far on two most recent outings in maiden company including last time out in May. Solid form in the book but there's a concern he's been absent for so long, declared a non-runner twice since last seen.
Made a promising start to his career but the form of his latest efforts at Lingfield and Windsor has taken a few knocks. Quite possibly better over a bit further than this and may come on for this reappearance after a break.
Won well last time out in a race confined to amateur riders and should be competitive back here despite never winning off a mark this high. Yard have a reputation for using talented apprentices and this riders 7lb claim could be effective within the context of this race. Interesting runner provided he copes with the step back in trip.
Won what looks like a particularly weak handicap here three starts ago and form of the race yet to work out. Looks poorly handicapped on that basis.
Returned to form of late and thereabouts on each of her last three starts including when finishing second by a short head on Tapeta at Wolverhampton last time out. Already due to go up 2lb in future races and her jockey got his career off to a flying start here on Tuesday with a confident ride. One of the more interesting contenders.
Forecasts
Dose (2/1), Fingal's Cave (6/1), The Magic Pencil (7/1), Hernando Torres (8/1), Ticks The Boxes (17/2), Out Of The Ashes (9/1), Essenaitch (9/1), London Glory (12/1), Mr Andros (16/1)
HERNANDO TORRES was impressive last time out and Ryan Timby may be able to steer the gelding to his first win in the saddle. Dose looks like an interesting runner and Connor Murtagh got his career off to a flying start earlier in the week. Any market support for Mr Andros would be interesting after a while off the track.
1. Hernando Torres
2. Dose
3. Mr Andros
